About the Artist
Hiroko Mina is an internationally acclaimed pianist and composer whose music defies conventional boundaries. A graduate of Musashino Academia Musicae in Japan, she made her debut in Melbourne, Australia, and later honed her craft at the Moscow Conservatory during a period of immense political change. Mina became the first foreign pianist to perform in post-revolution Romania, earning the epithet “the pianist of the battlefield.” Over her career, she has performed more than 3,000 times across Europe, the U.S., Asia, and Australia, with her work featured in television, radio, and national media. With 14 original albums and collaborations with world-class musicians such as jazz legend Ron Carter, Mina has established herself as a pioneer of classical crossover music, blending traditional Japanese Noh, Mongolian throat singing, jazz, and classical piano in ways that resonate across cultures.
